Phone Home
What would you do if you could never go home?
Phone Home is a transnational project inspired by true stories from refugees. One play, performed across three stages in London, Munich and Athens, interlinked by video-conferencing and broadcast live online. Phone Home is a unique and innovative theatre experience, and a powerful reaction to the political and media discourse surrounding the refugee crisis.
Upstart, the creators of the The Situation Room (★★★★ "Immersive theatre at its very best - stirring, involving and highly original" What's On Stage), return to Shoreditch Town Hall with this international co-production. Developed over the course of a year in collaboration with refugees and migrants in London, Birmingham, Munich and Athens, Phone Home pioneers new ways of making and watching theatre.
Supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Arts Council England, Trust Greenbelt and Unity Theatre Trust.
